Concordia University Wisconsin has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to supporting military students and has earned national recognition for its dedication to supporting military-connected students, achieving the Military Friendly® School designation for 2025–2026.

Even more impressively, CUW has been ranked #2 in the nation among Private institutions offering Doctorate degrees, reaffirming its reputation as one of the top educational destinations for veterans, active-duty military, and their families. This honor places CUW in elite company, acknowledging its exceptional programs, services, and overall campus culture that make it a welcoming place for those who have served.

Military spouse recognition

In addition to its outstanding performance for military members, Concordia has also been named a Top Ten Military Spouse Friendly School #1 in the nation for the third year in a row. This accolade recognizes CUW’s proactive support for the unique challenges military spouses face when pursuing higher education, from flexible course delivery to career readiness initiatives.

Keith Casey, director of Veteran Services, is proud to be a part of a dedicated team, supportive faculty, and a university-wide culture that values our veterans and their families. “It truly takes a community to build an environment where they can thrive,” says Casey.

According to him, having this honor for the third year in a row is a sign that CUW is on the right path. “While we’re proud of this ranking, we’re not standing still. We’ll continue listening to our students and improving our programs to meet their evolving needs,” he declares.

“Our student veterans have already proven their dedication and leadership in service to the nation. It’s our job to give them the tools, resources, and respect they deserve as they pursue their education and career goals.”

A legacy of Military Friendly excellence

CUW’s journey toward this recognition began in 2018 when it first earned the Military Friendly® designation. Since then, the university has consistently elevated its status, achieving Silver, Gold, and even Top 10 rankings in subsequent years
