Concordia's athletics offerings continue to grow. The university announced last week that it will be adding women's wrestling to its extensive sports roster, bringing the total number of athletic programs to 33.
In an effort to give more students the opportunity to compete at a collegiate level, further their academic pursuits, and grow in their faith while attending Concordia University Wisconsin, Director of Athletics Dr. Rob Barnhill has worked diligently over the past 12 years to bolster the athletic offerings at Concordia. Since he arrived at CUW in 2001, Concordia’s student-athlete population has more than doubled.

Just this past summer, the NCAA committee on women’s athletics recommended that women’s wrestling be added as an emerging sport, a key step toward making it a championship-level sport. As one of only 36 colleges nationwide to offer women’s wrestling, CUW is on the cutting edge of its emergence in the collegiate scene.
It’s not the first time that Concordia has looked beyond the traditional athletics repertoire to offer more options for students. Here’s a list of the 11 programs Concordia has added to its roster in the past 12 years.
