Find out why you should choose an accelerated program at Concordia University Wisconsin.

Why you should choose an accelerated program at Concordia University Wisconsin

Are you a full-time worker with a dream of finishing your degree? Do you have little ones at home that keep you constantly busy but still wish to further your education? Is a traditional college course schedule too demanding for your lifestyle? Choosing an accelerated program at Concordia University Wisconsin (CUW) would be a perfect fit! Learn what it is like to be an accelerated student and how these programs can fit into your busy schedule.

Reason #1- Flexibility

Concordia strives to serve students throughout the Wisconsin community and beyond. We offer our accelerated program classes entirely online. This way students are able to complete coursework when it works best for them.

Reason #2- Accelerated Format

During the program, you will take one 6-8 week class at a time. Students have the flexibility to choose between in-person and online classes or a mixture of both. If you ever need to take a break along the way, you can hit pause for as long as you want.

Our accelerated programs offer:

  • In-person classes meet one night a week
  • Most courses are 6-8 weeks in length
  • Small class sizes
  • Minimal group work outside of class
  • Up to 84 transfer credits accepted, including experiential learning credit

Reason #3- Blackboard Virtual Learning Environment

Whether online or in-person, students will utilize our virtual learning environment, Blackboard.

Blackboard allows students to:

  • View announcements from the professor
  • Engage in discussions with fellow students
  • Browse course content and readings
  • Submit assignments

Students are able to access Blackboard at any time that is convenient for them and monitor their progress and grade within each course. Accelerated students must organize their schedules in order to work within the system each week.

Reason #4- Online Options

If a student has an equally busy evening schedule, our accelerated programs offer online-only classes. A student taking solely online courses must be very self-motivated as there are no in-person requirements.

Blackboard is where all work and communication will take place. Online students are also assigned a Student Success Advisor who will help students enroll, stay on track, and advise them as concerns arise.

As an online student Megan Alig explains, “Attending Concordia University was a pivotal moment in my life that allowed me to take a step forward in my profession. Everyone’s path is different and even though I am finishing my degree later in life than I wanted to, I am truly grateful to Concordia for giving me the opportunity to pursue my degree online on my own terms.” Check out some words of wisdom from our past accelerated students on how to succeed.
