Student Life

Transfer Testimonial

Here’s what just one happy transfer student, Walter Geiger (Online Bachelor’s Degree: Business Adminstration-General Business), has to say about his Concordia experience:

Why did you choose to attend Concordia over other options?

I chose Concordia for the flexibility. I transferred into CUW from the MATC Marketing program and have been extremely pleased with everything about CUW. I have lived in this area for quite a while, so although I’m taking online courses, I know that CUW has a beautiful campus. It isn’t too far away from the cities of Port Washington or Milwaukee, where many college-aged students can find fun activities to participate in.

Did you transfer in credits from another program?

I transferred roughly 65 credits from MATC and other college courses I have taken in my life. Flexibility was a large reason as to why I chose CUW.

How would you describe the relationship with your professors?

The professors at CUW have been outstanding. Many of them are quite friendly and well-spoken. I haven’t encountered any professors that seem to be headstrong or inflexible when discussing points of contention. Many of them correspond well with emails and other forms of communication. Many offer flexible office hours that I’m sure many students attend or utilize. I don’t really have any negative aspects to mention.

They communicate well, they teach the subject matter well, they normally make sure to stay on top of students and reach out when you take initiative as a student. Also, they are just your professors. Although they may seem intimidating or scary as experts in their field, they’re just normal people like us, so feel free to contact them. I have always had jovial responses when asking questions or clarifications when it comes to classes or other aspects of the class.

What is the main reason you would recommend this Business Management program to others?

All around this is a program that has checked off each box for me. It has solid professors, challenging classes without feeling impossible, teaching and learning about real-world scenarios, as well as much of the material being relatively easy to comprehend and digest. The staff at CUW really shines and I have yet to encounter anyone in any department that hasn’t been helpful or willing to provide insight when asked. I couldn’t be more pleased with how my journey at CUW has been.
