One hundred percent of Concordia University Wisconsin’s 2023 radiologic technology graduates received placements at accredited hospital-based programs this year, accounting for nearly half of all available spots statewide.

A total of 17 students comprise the 2021 radiologic technology (RT) cohort at CUW. The students received word of their placements last week.

Concordia’s RT students compete annually against graduates from six other Wisconsin colleges for placements at four hospitals. The total number of placements available this year to graduates from all seven schools was 38.

“I received feedback from some of the placement directors that our CUW candidates were exemplary this year,” said Chair of Concordia’s Imaging Department Lisa Reimer, MS, RDMS, RVT, RT(R). “This speaks volumes about the strength of our program, as well as the character and caliber of students we attract to Concordia.”

Concordia’s Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology program is a two-plus-two program, meaning students will spend the first two years on Concordia’s campus taking prerequisite courses prior to entry into the radiologic technology program. Following their first two years with CUW, students will then apply for the next phase that consists of didactic courses and clinical experience with accredited partner affiliations. Because of the competitive nature of the RT program, acceptance into the latter half of the program is not guaranteed.
