Jasen Wise, CUW Men’s Head Hockey Coach CUW's Director of Athletics, Dr. Rob Barnhill, recently announced Jasen Wise as the new men’s head hockey coach at the University. Wise is no stranger to NCAA Division III hockey. He was a player and team captain at the University of St. Thomas (Minn.), helping his squad to a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title during his junior year. With 13-years of coaching experience, the past eight seasons as head coach at Marian University in Fond du Lac, Wise is excited about this opportunity.
“The University and Athletic Department’s vision is the same as mine, and that is to win conference championships and play in the NCAA tournament,” said Wise.
This past season, 2011-12, he directed his program to a pair of wins over nationally ranked MSOE and a tie against NCAA Division III defending national champion St. Norbert College.
“Wise shares my vision for the direction of the men’s hockey program and I am convinced that he will accomplish our competitive and program goals,” said Barnhill.The CUW men’s hockey team finished up its season in February and now looks to a young core of players returning next year, which will be guided by a new coaching staff.
