A Growing Portfolio: Concordia’s Direct Entry MSN

In addition to these recognitions, Concordia has unveiled a new master’s program designed to meet Wisconsin’s urgent nursing workforce needs: the Direct Entry MSN (MSN-DE).

Launching in fall 2026, the MSN-DE program is designed for career changers—students who hold a bachelor’s degree in a non-nursing field and feel called to enter the nursing profession. This 64-credit, 22-month program blends online coursework with in-person labs and clinicals, offering:

  • A streamlined pathway into nursing without requiring a BSN
  • Small class sizes and individualized faculty support
  • A curriculum grounded in Concordia’s Christian mission
  • A pathway toward future advanced practice specialties (FNP, AGNP, etc.)

The MSN-DE arrives at a critical moment. Wisconsin faces a projected 22,900 RN shortfall by 2040, underscoring the need for flexible, high-quality programs that prepare new nurses to serve a world in need.
