Elected Milwaukee County’s 65th sheriff in November, 2018, Lucas chose a career in law enforcement at a young age following an encounter with a police officer which showed him the authority they hold. In a career spanning 25 years with the Milwaukee Police Department where Lucas started as a police aide, he served as the department’s public information officer and as a district commander before retiring at the rank of captain.

Prior to becoming sheriff, the Marquette University criminology and law studies graduate had a 17 year career as Major League Baseball’s Chief Liaison of Security & Investigations for then Commissioner Allan H. “Bud” Selig, helping to safeguard and secure the integrity of high profile events like All-Star games and the World Series. A Milwaukee native, Lucas and his wife reside in Milwaukee.

PNC Bank will again be the presenting sponsor of Concordia University Wisconsin’s long-standing Leadership Series, a signature event held each spring and fall that recognizes and encourages ethical leadership principles and provides networking opportunities for business and community leaders in a dynamic, Christian environment.
