Concordia University is fortunate to have a diverse array of practitioner-scholars teaching in its new Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) Program. DBA Faculty help to prepare leaders to address the challenges facing the business world by implementing a holistic approach—one that combines quantitative and qualitative business concepts.
This blog series will feature a few key faculty members, in order to give students a sense of their unique academic, professional, and research backgrounds. Here, we introduce you to Dr. Jennifer Knowles.
Dr. Knowles is an Assistant Professor of Business at Concordia University Wisconsin, teaching primarily qualitative research and Organizational Performance and Change courses in the DBA Program. She received her Ph.D. in Organizational Learning Performance and Change from Colorado State University. Her master’s degree is in Human Resources and Organizational Development and she earned an English degree from the University of Michigan.
Dr. Knowles’s research focuses on women in the workforce, and innovative ways to approach qualitative research. She also brings practitioner experience to the classroom. She previously developed employees to reach their utmost potential in luxury retail environments, and spent extensive time working in Southeast Asia.
Her social entrepreneurship work has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, CBS This Morning, CNN, and more, and her TEDx Talk inspires others to create positive change in their lives.
