Two Concordia University Wisconsin alumnae are among the educators honored this year by the South Wisconsin District.
Katy Shields (’14) received the district’s Elementary Teacher of the Year award. Shields received her Bachelor of Arts in Education from CUW. She currently teaches at First Immanuel Lutheran School in Cedarburg.
Candace Crass, who teaches at St. John’s Lutheran School in Glendale, received Outstanding Early Childhood Educator. Crass graduated from CUW in 1992 with a B.A. in Elementary Education.
Rick Zeuner, who has completed graduate credits at CUW, was also among the honorees. Zeuner received Outstanding High School Educator of the year. He teaches at Sheboygan Area Lutheran High School.
The South Wisconsin District Educator of the Year program recognizes outstanding teachers in South Wisconsin District preschools, elementary and high schools who have given unselfishly of their time and talents for the work of the Kingdom.
This year’s recipients were recognized at a dinner on Sunday, Jan. 24, at Silver Spring Gold Club in Menomonee Falls.
