Students, faculty, staff and alumni at Concordia University Wisconsin (CUW) will work side by side at various activities located throughout Southeastern Wisconsin in recognition of the university’s second annual Week of Service, March 6 – 10.
“Service is key to our mission,” said Rev. Dr. Randall Ferguson, CUW’s director of Christian Service. “It is our witness to the world that God in Christ Jesus lives, loves, and redeems all who call upon His name.”
Highlights of the week include group service opportunities at Feeding America, Schlitz Audubon Nature Center, Newcastle Place Senior Living, and the Milwaukee Rescue Mission.
On the Mequon campus, located at 12800 N. Lake Drive, activities will include guest speakers, sandwich making, cookie baking, and themed benefit drives to encourage participation in service at every level. Each of the university’s 11 accelerated learning centers (including Ann Arbor, Michigan and St. Louis, Missouri) will also host activities.
The busy week will culminate with a special chapel on Friday, March 10, to commission spring break mission trips heading to New Orleans, Louisiana, Appalachia, and Guatemala.

- Milwaukee Midtown: Partnering with Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin on March 10th from 9am-noon to help package, label and sort food boxes
- Appleton: Partnering with Feeding America on March 11th to help fight hunger
- Green Bay: Hosting a fund drive for House of Hope, a home for homeless pregnant and parenting women between the ages of 18 and 24
- Miller Park Way: Hosting a supply drive for St. Ben’s, a local church, which has a community meal “table” that feeds the poor, the hungry and the homeless
- Madison: Hosting a clothing drive for Good Shepheard Church
- Beloit: Hosting a food drive to support Echo and the Salvation Army
- Ann Arbor: Hosting a food drive for Gleaners Community Food Bank
- Kenosha: Collecting household items for Veterans Closet
- Mequon: Hosting a children’s pajama drive for Advocates of Ozaukee
- Waukesha: Collecting personal items for the Women’s Center of Waukesha
- St. Louis: Partnering with the Mastodon Art and Science Regional Fair
