Instrumental Ensembles
Falcon Pep Band/Drumline
Provides spirit, energy, and Falcon pride at sporting events (primarily home football and basketball games) and other school events. Open to all. Director: Mrs. Johanna Anderson
University Band
A concert band that performs sacred and secular music at concerts throughout the academic year. Audition required. Director: Mrs. Johanna Anderson
Jazz Ensemble
Specializes in standard swing, bop, blues and rock music, performing at various campus events and concerts. Audition required. Director: Dr. Louis Menchaca
String Ensemble/Chamber Orchestra
A dual format ensemble which covers the historical span of string repertoire from Baroque to 20th Century. Fall semester concentrates on string orchestra and spring semester adds requisite wind, brass and percussion. Audition required. Director: Dr. Louis Menchaca
Symphonic Wind Ensemble
A select concert band which performs concerts throughout the academic year. The ensemble maintains a repertoire of both secular and sacred music, and performs in both worship and concert settings. Participation in performance tour is required. Membership is by audition only. Director: Dr. Louis Menchaca
Handbell Ensembles
Chapel Ringers
Perform for Chapel services once per month, along with occasional concerts and guest appearances at churches and other venues. Open to all CUW students; audition required. Director: Prof. Mark Bloedow
The Alleluia Ringers
A select handbell choir that performs in worship and concerts and also participates in an annual performance tour. Audition required. Director: Prof. Mark Bloedow
Vocal Ensembles
Chapel Choir
A mixed voice ensemble providing music for Friday Chapel services each week, along with occasional on-campus concert performances. Open to all CUW students, faculty and staff; audition required. Director: Dr. Alexa Doebele
Concordia Civic Chorale
A mixed voice ensemble open to all CUW students, along with faculty, staff, alumni and community members. Performs a variety of sacred and secular works for on-campus concert performances. Audition required. Director: Prof. Mark Bloedow
Selah
A select treble choir that performs sacred and classical music at a variety of campus and off-campus events. audition required. Director: Dr. Alexa Doebele
Kammerchor
German for “chamber choir,” Kammerchor is a select mixed voice ensemble performing a wide variety of choral literature at major on-campus concerts and in tours all over the United States and internationally. Audition required. Director: Dr. Alexa Doebele
Music Scholarships
