Every semester, The Beacon staff dive in with both new and familiar faces to radiate Concordia’s news to you. If you enjoy writing, content creation, or just sharing news, consider joining us in the following weeks or semesters.
Your Beacon Staff!
Ruanda Diaz is a Social Media and Content Manager with The Beacon. She is a Senior graduating in May 2024 and majoring in Mass Communication with Business Communication and Marketing minors. When she isn’t planning posts, she enjoys playing tennis and shopping.
Abigail (Abby) McGue is a Multimedia Creator and Writer with The Beacon. She is a Senior Mass Communication major graduating in May of 2024 with minors in sports media and graphic design. She is a member of Concordia’s Field Hockey team, President of the CUW SGA, and a student worker for Concordia’s athletic communications. Fun fact: she’s vegetarian.
Grace Velzke is a Blog Manager and Writer with The Beacon. She is a Junior graduating in December of 2024 with a Mass Communication major and Business Communication minor. You may have seen her around campus working as a CAB ambassador or leading her Haven band. In her downtime, she’s watched all 10 seasons of Friends 6 times over and determined that Phoebe is her favorite character.
Tess Miller is the Graphics and Images Manager with The Beacon. She is a Senior Mass Communication major graduating in May 2024. You might know her from the band here at Concordia or have seen her working with dogs and dog rescue. If you’re in the area, you might have spotted her cameo on Fox 6 to promote Make-A-Wish’s Walk for Wishes.
Hanah Conger is a Writer with The Beacon. She is a Senior graduating in May 2024 with a Mass Communication major and a writing emphasis. A former CUW Golf team member, she’s still waiting to find someone who spells their name the same way she does.
Bella Sciachitano is a Writer with The Beacon. She is a Junior graduating in 2025 with a major in Mass Communication and a minor in Marketing. She loves fitness and trying different restaurants and probably has a sticker for everything.
Nash Siemers is a Writer with The Beacon. He is in his second year with AbleLight College at CUW. Beyond writing, he loves digital drawing and creating characters, and is inspired by the music of David Bowie.
Mikayla Sells is the PR and Promotion Liaison for The Beacon. She is a Sophomore Business Scholar majoring in Management with a minor in Marketing. When she is not busy on campus as the PR and Social programming chair for SGA and Business Scholar Association President, she loves to spend time with her dog Milo.
Samuel Boehlke is the Managing Editor and a Writer for The Beacon. He is a Senior Mass Communication major with a minor in Law and Politics. A former contributor at Wisconsin Right Now and The Federalist, he is currently a Senior Editor at New Guard Press and External Affairs Editor for the Quaestus Journal. When he is not writing, he is the captain of the ultimate team and loves reading about the Fall of the West.
