Congratulations to Mikayla Dolan, a psychology and social work major, and Nadia Di Berardo, a master of social work student, students of the month for March!
CUW is pleased to honor two outstanding students every month, as this year faculty are selecting an undergraduate student and a graduate student as students of the month. Congrats to Mikayla and Nadia!
Undergraduate Student of the Month
The CUW Faculty have selected Mikayla Dolan as the undergraduate student of the month for March. Mikayla is a sophomore majoring in Psychology and Social Work. She excels both academically and in service, and has consistently reflected strong Christian values as a Faith Associate, in her classes, and in her interactions within the community: She has recently joined CUW’s mission trip to Appalachia, and organized a Christian Women’s panel of faculty and staff for students. Mikayla has also demonstrated strong commitment to her fellow students as a Peer Leader in the General Psychology course, going above and beyond to cultivate a nurturing and stimulating learning atmosphere for her fellow students. As Vice-President in the Psychology Club, Mikayla exemplifies her enthusiasm for learning and sets a remarkable example for her peers.
Nominated by Dr. Vittoria Sipone.
Graduate Student of the Month
The CUW Faculty have selected Nadia Di Berardo as the graduate student of the month for March. Nadia is a Master of Social Work student who goes above and beyond in all that she does. She excels in her coursework and is an active participant in discussions and VoiceThreads. She leads by grace and feels called to be in the social work profession. While in her field placement at a middle school outside of Detroit, MI, she started a free hair cut program to boost the confidence of the kids in the entire school district! This event was featured on several local news stations. Nadia is a go-getter and an active listener who does a great job connecting with students and staff, all while balancing a full-time job, being a mom, and service to her local Church. She is definitely an Uncommon student!
Nominated by Dr. Sara Casali.
