Congratulations to CUW’s November Students of the Month, Maddie Bryant and Angell Stone

CUW is pleased to honor two outstanding students every month, as this year faculty are selecting an undergraduate student and a graduate student as students of the month. Congrats to Maddie and Angell!

Undergraduate Student of the Month

The CUW Faculty has selected Maddie Bryant as the Undergraduate Student of the Month for November. Maddie is a junior Communication Sciences and Disorders major with a Psychology minor. She is a stand-out student who earns exceptional grades. In the classroom, she connects ideas, asks thoughtful questions, and brings a positive attitude with a content-relevant sense of humor. Outside of the classroom she is heavily involved in music, participates in the National Student Speech Language and Hearing Association, babysits in the community, and leads this year’s Kid Min organization (CUW’s children’s ministry), which brought community members to campus for Fall Fest on Nov 2nd. Maddie is constantly thinking about how she can connect what she is learning in the classroom with the children in her life; she looks for and finds mission-centered and community-minded ways to serve others through her vocation as she learns.

Maddie was nominated by Dr. Heather Pauly.

The CUW Faculty has selected Angell Stone as the Graduate Student of the Month for November. Angell is a doctoral candidate in the Leadership in Innovation and Continuous Improvement (LICI) program. Angell’s scholarship, analysis, research, and writing skills are fantastic, but that’s not what makes her special. With over four decades of life experience, including serving as Reverend Dr. Billy Graham’s editor for seven years, Angell is a wonderful example of a life-long learner and faithful servant of Christ. She doesn’t need or want the doctorate to advance her career or gain new promotions. Instead, she enrolled to honor her mother and to grow as a faithful servant and steward of God’s gifts. Refusing to let MS, and several other debilitating diseases and disorders, derail her doctoral pursuit, Angell is thrilled to be learning more about leadership and her great God.

Angell was nominated by Dr. James Pingel.
