Two of Concordia University Wisconsin and Ann Arbor’s interim leaders have secured their place among President Erik Ankerberg’s executive leadership team.
As of July 1, 2024, Elizabeth Polzin, EdD, and Danielle Marsh, CPA, are serving as Vice President for Student Success and Vice President of Finance, respectively.
Meet CUWAA’s VP for Student Success
Polzin joined Concordia’s faculty and staff in 2016 as Assistant Professor of Education and Assistant Vice President of Academics for Student Success. Altogether, she has nearly two decades of experience in educational settings, including at the collegiate and PreK-12 levels, and on behalf of private and public schools.
With a background in school psychology, Polzin brings a unique and caring lens to student services. In her role as VP for Student Success, she oversees a majority of CUWAA’s student-facing departments, including residence life, academic advising, academic resource services, campus safety, and counseling.
Polzin is a member of St. Peter-Immanuel Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, where her husband currently serves as a called LCMS pastor.
“Liz is a proven leader with a demonstrated track record of success across a variety of educational settings,” said Ankerberg. “Her deep roots in the LCMS help inform her commitment to Concordia’s distinctly Lutheran mission. We are blessed to have her in this critical role as we work to enhance student engagement, leadership, retention, and success.”
Meet CUWAA’s VP of Finance
Marsh began her career in public accounting specializing in audits, tax and fraud analysis for Komisar Brady and Co. (now CliftonLarsonAllen), a public accounting firm based in Milwaukee. From there, she dipped her toes into the world of health care finance, performing general accounting functions for Froedtert Health Medical Group. Prior to joining Concordia’s staff in 2021, she served six years as the accounting manager for a successful Milwaukee-based nonprofit. She also volunteers her time as treasurer for a nonprofit designed to grow business and event development in Menomonee Falls.
In addition to stewarding CUWAA’s annual budget and finances, Marsh oversees Concordia’s billing, financial aid and information technology operations. Her diverse work background affords her a confidence in her approach to managing Concordia’s finances. She is known to prioritize her team members’ individual professional development.
Marsh is a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Menomonee Falls.
“Danielle is an essential part of Concordia’s future,” said Ankerberg. “I have the fullest confidence in her ability to elevate our financial position in alignment with our strategic vision for Concordia and the ever-important mission of our university.”
