Call it an early Mother's Day gift!

On Friday, May 7, a 7-months-pregnant Margaret Rios crossed Concordia University Wisconsin’s commencement stage to mark the completion of her Doctor of Pharmacy degree.

It was nearly eight years ago, just a semester into her undergraduate experience, that Rios unexpectedly learned she was pregnant with her first child. For the next several years she juggled jobs, classes, school work, and life as a single mom, all in an effort to provide a better life for herself and her kids.

Now she’s married with two kids, a third on the way, and a bright future as a pharmacist ahead of her.
