On April 30, Concordia University Wisconsin's pharmacy students invited community members to clear out their medication cabinets and dispose of expired or unneeded prescriptions safely at the university.
The effort was part of the United States Drug Enforcement Administration’s national Drug Take Back Day initiative. CUW student Bessma Dabaan was involved in organizing the event. She spoke to Fox6 news reporter Derica Williams when she stopped by campus on Saturday.
A prime focus of Drug Take Back Day is to help curb the opioid epidemic by removing “gateway” prescription pills from misuse.
