Andrea Hauser DNP, RN, CNL

Andrea Hauser, DNP, RN, CNL embodies Concordia's mission, utilizing her education to live a meaningful life of service.

How this Doctor of Nursing Practice is impacting patient care

Concordia DNP program grad Andrea Hauser has been a nurse with Gundersen since 2003. She has served in multiple capacities, continually taking on more responsibility and working to provide the best care for patients. Her roles have included registered nurse (RN), nurse educator, clinical nurse leader (CNL), and clinical manager. Most recently, she served as Director of Nursing from December 2015. But, Hauser was recently appointed to Vice President of Nursing and Patient Experience on March 24th.

“I’ve always gravitated toward work that positively impacts our patients in broad, meaningful ways, especially where I am able to serve people who deliver care,” Hauser said. “This role allows me to partner with clinicians, nurses, clinical staff and many others to formally fold in patient experience.”

Transform your career with our DNP programs

Hauser graduated from Concordia’s Doctor of Nursing Practice program in 2016. This program is designed to prepare advanced practice nurses for roles in leadership.

Concordia offers a variety of nursing programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels to prepare nurses for a wide variety of roles in healthcare. In addition to the MSN to DNP program, Concordia also now offers a BSN to DNP for nurses who want to become a primary care nurse practitioner.

Patient-centered health care is the top priority.

“A nurse practitioner means being part of the patient-centered health care team to deliver care within the community,” Program Director Diane Ames, DNP, FNP-BC, stated. “It’s so rewarding because of the partnership you develop with your patients to optimize their health care needs. You’re educated to practice the art and science of advanced practice nursing.”

"I’ve always gravitated toward work that positively impacts our patients in broad, meaningful ways, especially where I am able to serve people who deliver care," Hauser said. "This role allows me to partner with clinicians, nurses, clinical staff and many others to formally fold in patient experience."
