Undergraduate Student of the Month
The CUW Faculty have selected Yushin Kim as the undergraduate student of the month for December. Yushin is a senior Biochemistry major. In addition to maintaining excellent grades, he is an active undergraduate researcher with an interest in structural biology and drug discovery. Yushin was invited to present his research regarding the development of novel drugs targeting latent HIV via computer-aided drug design at a poster session at the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists PharmSci 360 convention this October. He is also actively researching the development of modelled chemokine-chemokine receptor complexes using AlphaFold. In addition, he serves as president of the CUW chapter of the Alpha Chi National Honor Society, plays violin in the CUW string ensemble, and serves as a tutor. Yushin’s commitment to striving for excellence in mind, body, and spirit is truly an inspiration.
