Concordia University Wisconsin will honor 657 graduates on December 13 at its mid-year commencement ceremony. Here are some details about this exciting event!


On Saturday, CUW will celebrate the achievements of its latest cohort of graduates. A total of 657 bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees will be conferred across all six schools.

Baccalaureate Speaker: Rev. David Blas

Missionary-at-large of the LCMS Sheboygan County Hispanic Outreach
Pastor David Blas is currently serving at Good Shepherd as a missionary-at-large of the LCMS Sheboygan County Hispanic Outreach. Before coming to Sheboygan, he was a member at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Melrose Park, Ill., from 2012 to 2014, where he served as a lay person and started his pre-seminary courses. In 2014, he was a member of Cross Lutheran Church, Yorkville, Ill., where he helped plant a new Hispanic Mission. He was ordained as a pastor on June 24, 2018.

David studied for the ministry at Concordia Seminary, St Louis, Mo., including his vicarage at St. John Lutheran Church, Plymouth, Wis. He graduated from the University of Puerto Rico in Aguadilla, acquiring a B.S. in Environmental Technology. In addition, he graduated from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, acquiring a Bible certificate, and recently acquired a Masters of Art from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis.

Currently, David leads Spanish services every Sunday at Good Shepherd. He is married to Maria, who works as a secretary for the Hispanic Outreach at Good Shepherd. He is the father of two boys—David, a graduating senior at Concordia University Wisconsin, and Danavid, a student at Lakeshore Technical College in Cleveland, Wis.


Student Speaker: Rimsha Arooj

Master of Business Administration

Rimsha Arooj brings with her a remarkable story shaped by resilience, faith, and perseverance. Originally from Pakistan and a Christian minority there, Rimsha’s life has been defined by courage and determination. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from the Budapest Metropolitan University and has now completed her MBA in our Batterman School of Business.

Rimsha has gained experience across several industries and around the world. Her professional roles have included serving in the hospitality field, working as a sales and marketing associate at Budapest Metropolitan University, and completing an internship at the Embassy of Pakistan in Hungary. Each opportunity helped shape her strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities while deepening her understanding of global business.

Her move from Pakistan to the United States marked not only a shift in geography but a deep commitment to growth and purpose. She is passionate about bridging cultures, empowering women and minorities, and using education as a tool for transformation.
