Concordia University Wisconsin’s annual Early Childhood Festival On The Lake is planned for Friday, August 5 and will feature a keynote presentation by Lisa Moser, author of nine children’s books.
“We’re extremely excited to bring in such a passionate author to keynote,” noted Dr. Candyce Seider, a longtime professor at the university and festival director since its inception in 2005. “She is honest about the long and sometimes challenging and creative journey she takes before arriving at a heartwarming story,” Seider added.
Moser, a former elementary school teacher and Grafton resident, will reflect on her writing process the past 20 years during her presentation. Her latest book, “Stories from Bug Garden,” was named a Junior Library Guild Selection and was highly reviewed by The New York Times.
Ten workshops will be offered during the day. The workshop cost, which can be applied towards one graduate credit, is $90 and includes breakfast, lunch and an afternoon ice cream social. A discount is available for groups of five or more.
This event is co-sponsored by Concordia University Wisconsin and the Early Childhood Committee of The South Wisconsin District of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. For more information, please e-mail Dr. Candyce Seider atcandyce.seider@cuw.edu or visit the Early Childhood Festival website.
