Congratulations to CUW’s January Students of the Month, Kayla Samann and Stephanie Metoxen!

CUW is pleased to honor two outstanding students every month, one undergraduate student and one graduate student, as students of the month. Congrats to Kayla and Stephanie!

Undergraduate Student of the Month

The CUW Faculty have selected Kayla Samann as the Undergraduate Student of the Month for February. Kayla is a senior Diagnostic Medical Sonography student with a minor in Business and Spanish. Kayla has consistently demonstrated high academic achievement, excelling in all aspects of the full time professional program. She embodies Christian qualities proving consistently her compassionate caregiving skills so much so that she was hired as an intern sonographer at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. In alignment with her servant’s heart,  Kayla has led the Student Imaging Association at CUW where she has created events to engage underclassmen and build an on-campus community for undergraduate health profession majors. The time she has dedicated to support other students is a wonderful testament to her character especially considering the DMS program requires a time commitment of 40 hours/week in classes or clinical education.

Kayla was nominated by Prof. Lisa Reimer.

Graduate Student of the Month

The CUW Faculty have selected Stephanie Metoxen as the Graduate Student of the Month for February. Stephanie is a Doctor of Business Administration student who has overcome some incredible challenges over the last year while continuing work on her doctoral degree. In spring of last year, Stephanie and her family endured a house fire that took almost everything they owned from them. As a mom, Stephanie has supported her family through the difficulties and took care of the details to get their lives back on track. While this situation would have caused many students to discontinue their doctoral work, Stephanie has pushed through, continuing her dissertation work, and proceeding with determination. Stephanie’s faith and resilience through such challenging circumstances is admirable. She has set a wonderful example of using strength from God to persevere through life’s most difficult times.

Stephanie was nominated by Dr. Laura Hurtienne.
