On January 20, administration from Concordia University Wisconsin (CUW) and Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) met on CUW’s campus to sign an articulation agreement that allows MATC students to reside in Concordia University student housing.

Rev. Patrick T. Ferry, Ph.D., president of CUW, and Dr. Vicki J. Martin, president of MATC, sealed this arrangement during a ceremony that included a discussion about the future of partnerships like this in higher education. Both leaders expressed eagerness to continue exploring ways to serve the community by providing more access and opportunity for lifelong learning.
“This new partnership with Concordia University will benefit students who are interested in academic programs offered at our Mequon Campus,” said Martin. “Offering campus housing and robust student life opportunities will enhance their overall MATC experience. We appreciate the opportunity to expand our strong partnership with our valued colleagues and neighbors at Concordia.”

Concordia University and MATC currently have eight transfer agreements in place that allow students to begin their education at MATC and then seamlessly transfer earned credits to a bachelor’s degree program at Concordia. The residency opportunity offers these students a safe housing option and a unique student life experience that would not otherwise be available.

As higher education continues to evolve, it is important that we collaborate with partners like MATC to offer a nimble, dynamic learning environment to meet the individual needs of our students. Rev. Patrick T. Ferry
