Concordia University Wisconsin Art Gallery opens new showcase, Drawing Upon Reflection.

Drawing Upon Reflection: A Full Life, a new exhibit, will showcase the recent works of Polly Ewen-Caster and Tom Noffsinger in the Concordia University Wisconsin Art Gallery, January 29-March 29. The gallery is located above the auditorium on the university’s main campus, 12800 North Lake Shore Drive.

An opening reception will be held on Thursday, February 1 from 6-8 p.m.  Regular gallery hours are Monday-Thursday from 4-8 p.m., and Friday and Sunday from 12-4 p.m.

Ewens-Caster recently retired from the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD), where she taught in both the Foundations and Fine Arts Divisions.  “She embraces the diversity within the powerful poetry of the drawing act,” noted Dr. Theresa Kenney, gallery director and a longtime Concordia art professor.

Noffsinger has exhibited his works throughout the Midwest, most recently at the Rahr-West Art Museum in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.  A MIAD professor for 33 years, he received his Master of Fine Arts from the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan.

The fourth and final art exhibition of the academic year will be the annual Senior Show, April 9-May 19.  An Opening Reception will be held on Friday, April 20.
