A CUW student creates artwork at Concordia.

The Greater Milwaukee area’s art donations will become another’s treasures during Concordia University Wisconsin’s upcoming Art for Art Scholarship Auction.

In this “Antique Road Show”-like event, Concordia will auction off approximately 45 items ranging from vintage furniture to antique pottery and rare paintings. Community members are invited to attend the event and place silent bids from April 2 to April 9. The bidding period officially closes at 8 p.m. April 9, and the winners will be notified on April 10.

Proceeds from the auction will go towards supporting students in Concordia’s arts programs.

“This is the perfect event for the antiquing community or anyone who has an appreciation for beautiful, quality items,” says Dr. Theresa Kenney, professor of art. “Not only could you walk away with a one-of-a-kind collectible, you’ll support arts students’ education in the process.”

Items are in the process of being appraised. Their appraised value will be advertised at the auction.

The auction will take place in the CUW Art Gallery on Concordia’s Mequon campus, 12800 N. Lake Shore Drive, Mequon. Hours are 4-8 p.m. April 2-5; 12-4 p.m. April 6 and 8; and 4-8 p.m. April 9. The gallery and auction are closed on Saturday, April 7.

Items must be picked up on April 10 between 4 and 8 p.m. CUW students will be on hand to help load items at this time.
