Concordia University Wisconsin (CUW) held its Spring Commencement for undergraduate students on Saturday, May 16. The ceremony marked a special occasion for a Beloit mother and daughter who graduated together.
Lisa Mayfield (mom) and Stacey Grover (daughter) both completed their course work at CUW’s Beloit Center. Mayfield earned a BA in Healthcare Management and Grover received her BA in Business Management.
“This was a huge accomplishment for both of us,” said Grover. I was so honored to have my mother by my side as I walked behind her at graduation.”
“I couldn’t have been more proud of her,” said Mayfield. She inspired me to go back and obtain my degree. The fact that we were able to finish at the same time and graduate together was a special day for both us.”
Donna Harold is the Director of CUW’s Beloit Center. She said that despite some challenges and struggles, both managed to stick with their studies and finish their programs.
“I think it’s awesome that they both finished their degrees and graduated together,” said Harold.
The Beloit Center is located at 2040 Sutler Avenue and offers Associates, Bachelors, and graduate degree programs, along with certificates in Business Management, Criminal Justice Management, Health Care Management, and Human Resource Management.
