Sharon Chappy The dean of Concordia University Wisconsin’s School of Nursing was recently honored as one of her alma mater’s 50 Distinguished Alumni.
Sharon Chappy received her Ph.D. in nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee College of Nursing in 2001. She and her fellow awardees were honored April 15 during a ceremony at the university.
The 50 Distinguished Alumni awards were given in celebration of the UW-Milwaukee College of Nursing’s 50th anniversary celebration.
Chappy was selected out of thousands of nurses who have gone through the college over the past half century.
Chappy has served as dean of Concordia’s School of Nursing for the past two years, educating nurses at the baccalaureate, master’s and doctoral levels.
Prior to serving as dean and professor of Concordia’s School of Nursing, Chappy held various leadership positions at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. She received a Wisconsin Idea Fellow Award for her work in developing the ACCELerated Online BSN Program there, the first program of its kind in the nation.
“I’m very honored to be recognized alongside some tremendous award recipients,” Chappy said. “Through my role at Concordia University, I continually strive to help prepare future nurses who will serve with excellence. To be honored with an award that acknowledges some of those efforts is truly humbling.”
