This Christmas, a new Concordia video invites students, alumni, and friends to reflect on Christ and the meaning of the season.
Christmas invites us to pause. Not just to admire the lights or finish one more task before the year ends, but to remember why this season exists in the first place. At its heart, Christmas is about Christ entering the world with humility, purpose and love — a gift given freely, not because it was earned, but because it was needed.
This year, the Office of Marketing and Communications prepared a Christmas video to share with students, alumni, faculty, staff and friends of Concordia. The video is simple and intentional. It reflects who we are as a Concordia community and what we believe. Through familiar sights, quiet moments and words grounded in scripture, it points us back to the true meaning of the season. Christ came near. And that nearness still matters.
For students, this message arrives in the middle of finals, transitions and unanswered questions about what comes next. For alumni, it may stir memories of late-night conversations, chapel services and friendships that shaped their lives. For faculty, staff and supporters, it serves as a reminder that the work done each day is rooted in something far greater than schedules and outcomes. It is rooted in Christ.
At Concordia, our mission calls us to prepare students for thoughtful service and faithful leadership. Christmas reminds us why that mission matters. The birth of Christ changed the course of history, not through power or noise, but through obedience, grace and truth. Those same values continue to guide our community today.
As this video is shared across screens and spaces, our hope is that it offers more than seasonal cheer. We hope it offers peace. We hope it invites reflection. And above all, we hope it points hearts back to the one who came to dwell among us.
