Congratulations to CUW’s October Students of the Month, Carolyn Bourgeault and Andrew Elmhorst!
CUW is pleased to honor two outstanding students every month, one undergraduate student and one graduate student, as students of the month. Congrats to Carolyn and Andrew!
Undergraduate Student of the Month

The CUW Faculty have selected Carolyn Bourgeault as the Undergraduate Student of the Month for October. Carolyn is a Junior Pre-Occupational Therapy student studying Rehabilitation Science. She is a two-sport student athlete, playing both ice hockey and lacrosse. While the Athletic Communications office was shorthanded due to an injury, Carolyn stepped up and went above and beyond to ensure that gamedays, the office, and media days ran smoothly. She helped run multiple team media days, set up equipment for multiple home sporting events, updated the athletics website, and helped train new student workers. She did all this while balancing her studies and athletic team commitments, reflecting her dedication to the Concordia value of service.
Carolyn was nominated by Mr. Jeremy Crawford.
Graduate Student of the Month

Andrew Elmhorst is a Doctor of Physical Therapy student and an alumnus of Concordia’s Rehabilitation Science program. Andrew’s academic excellence is fueled not only by his natural intelligence and problem-solving skills, but also by hard work and a consistent desire to connect what he is learning in the classroom to how he will serve future patients. In addition to meeting and exceeding academic expectations, Andrew lives out the Concordia mission through acts of service and a Christ-centered mentality. To name a few, Andrew participates in Bible Study and Alpha discussions weekly. He recently coordinated a multi-university Residency Fair event on CUW’s campus, and also volunteered for Soles for Jesus on the same day. Andrew exemplifies what it means to be a Concordian.
Andrew was nominated by Dr. Emily Goetz-Sutinen.
