From freshman move-in day on Thursday through Opening Service and the President’s Picnic on Sunday, God blessed us with wonderful weather, amazing new students, and fired-up faculty and staff to start the new school year.
It’s a time filled with highlights and memories–from thrilling arrivals to tearful goodbyes and heartfelt worship. In-between are lots of unloading, lifting, and lugging, with loads of loving current students on hand to cheerfully serve their new fellow Falcons and introduce them to the ways of life on campus. It brings out the best in all of us and is a shining example of this year’s theme, “Free to Serve,” rooted in our theme verse, Galatians 5:13-14:
“For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'”
