Did you know that some of your CUWAA professors are also Study Abroad alumni?

The benefits of a Study Abroad experience are boundless! Studying abroad gives you the chance to flex your problem-solving skills, embrace new experiences, and harness the power of real-world learning.

No one knows this better than the CUWAA faculty and staff who opted for their own Study Abroad experience. CUW has had several of its faculty and staff study abroad, some multiple times. This series will give you a glimpse at a few of them. Click here to read more.

Study Abroad to Spain

Johanna Anderson, M.M.Ed. traveled to Sevilla, Spain during her undergraduate studies at CUW. Mrs. Anderson was a double major in Music Education and Spanish Education, showing that even ambitious academic goals can fit study abroad in the mix! Read below for what she has to say:

My study abroad experience provided me with lasting friendships, and it helped me grow as a person. During my semester abroad (Spring 2012), I took classes at the Universidad de Sevilla and also travelled around Spain and other parts of Europe. Wind Ensemble toured Spain this past March, and I had the opportunity to visit the family that I lived with over ten years ago, which was a really special experience. For anyone considering a study abroad experience, I highly recommend it – it is worth it! Mrs. Anderson is the Music Department Recruiter and Associate Director of Instrumental Music at CUW. Of the residential students, more than one third (1/3) participate in music ensembles, applied instruction and course study. More than half of the ensemble participants in the music department are non-music majors who wish to continue to perform and study music with our acclaimed faculty and conductors. The Wind Symphony and Kammerchor (German for “chamber choir”) tour periodically in and outside the US. Kammerchor will be headed to Europe in 2025 to perform in Austria and Germany.
