This week marks National Lutheran Schools Week, an annual celebration that provides the network of more than 2,000 LCMS preschools, elementary schools, high schools, and universities throughout the nation with the opportunity to publicly proclaim and celebrate the good work happening with our schools.

Lutheran schools are amazing incubators for faithful witness of God’s love through Christ by teachers and students alike. Here at CUW, we’re grateful for the Kingdom work of our Lutheran feeder schools and all of the amazing students they nurture before their arrival on our campus.

Lutheran schools have a reputation for offering high-quality education and are amazing incubators of faithful witnesses of God’s love. At all levels, Lutheran education teaches and lives out the Gospel message of God’s salvation through Christ. Here at CUW, this Gospel focus is woven into the fabric of all that we do. We recognize the fruits of this mission in our feeder schools as well through the amazing students they bring to our campus.

In honor of National Lutheran Schools Week this year, Concordia took some time to round up a few of the CUW students who are proud products of area Lutheran high schools.

Here are just a few reasons Ku Mo loves Concordia and why she encourages her Milwaukee Lutheran classmates to consider Concordia, too.

Q: Why did you choose Concordia University Wisconsin?

When I toured Concordia back in my fresh-prep year with Mr. Atkinson, I already had a good impression of the school. Many of my teachers from Milwaukee Lutheran are Concordia alumni and I could see how much this school has helped them. My pastor also shared many nice things about Concordia. Since I am new to the Christian faith, I liked the idea of being at a place that would help me grow stronger in faith and where I could be open about my beliefs. I feel like the environment is safe, and the campus is just the size I am looking for. In addition, I am blessed to be here on a full-ride scholarship.

Q: Why should someone else from Milwaukee Lutheran consider CUW?

I think someone from Milwaukee Lutheran should consider Concordia because of the family and community aspect that both ML and CUW share. The people here are great. Everyone is always willing to help. My roommates are awesome (I even trust them to cut my hair!) and I’ve been able to make some good friends beyond them as well.

I’ve been really happy with my classes at Concordia. A lot of people recommended this school to me because of the good education program they have, but if you’re not interested in becoming a teacher like me, there are so many other programs at Concordia that are also really strong. I recommend you check them out.
