The Batterman School of Business is excited to announce Robert (Bobby) Albrightson as Coordinator for the Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA), and Master of Science in Accountancy (MSA) programs.

While a new staff member for CUW’s Batterman School of Business, Bobby is no stranger to Concordia University. He graduated in May 2023 with a degree in Business Management and was a participant in Concordia’s prestigious Business Scholars program. This program allowed him to complete his undergraduate degree while simultaneously pursuing his MBA. This unique experience exposed him to advanced business concepts that are typically encountered later in one’s career. Bobby credits his involvement in the Business Scholars program for many of his early career successes.

During his time as a student at Concordia, Bobby took full advantage of the opportunities available to him, including a business school-sponsored study abroad trip to Austria. These experiences helped shape his understanding of global business and broadened his perspective on business education.

Professional Background

Bobby has experience in both industry and higher education. While still a student, he interned at a local property management firm, where he was responsible for managing the finances of over 20 rental properties. After his internship, Bobby worked as the Associate Director of Marketing and Communications at St. Monica and St. Eugene Parishes, where he played a key role in the parishes’ fundraising efforts. Over the course of the fiscal year, he helped raise nearly $1 million for the church.

After graduation, Bobby wanted to remain at Concordia. For the 2023-2024 academic year and the Fall 2024 semester, he served as the coordinator for the Master of Science in Computer Science (MSCS) program at Concordia. During this time, the program experienced rapid growth, with around 500 international students being admitted to the program, making it the university’s largest academic program. Through this experience, Bobby gained valuable experience in managing unforeseen challenges and adapting to change, all while supporting students in their journeys towards graduation.

The Future of CUW’s MBA, MSBA, and MSA Programs

When the coordinator position for the MBA, MSBA, and MSA programs became available, Bobby saw an opportunity to leverage his educational background and professional experience to contribute to the program he himself experienced as a student. In his new role, Bobby aims to continue building the graduate business programs and ensure they evolve to meet the ever-changing demands of the business world. His plans include a greater focus on data analytics, the integration of Christian business ethics, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence. With the business landscape evolving rapidly, Bobby is excited to contribute to higher business education during this transformative time.

PhD Pursuits

Looking ahead, Bobby plans to further his education by pursuing a PhD in Business Administration at Concordia University. This program will not only deepen his understanding of business practices and theories but also enhance his skills as an educator and higher education administrator. He is particularly excited about the dissertation process, where he plans to explore the relationships between public policy and free markets, and how these two areas can sometimes diverge in the goals they aim to achieve.

Outside of work and academics, Bobby enjoys reading, watching movies, biking, swimming, and golfing.
