Tom Wilmeth, professor of English at CUW, spoke this week with longtime Wisconsin Public Radio host Larry Meiller about various types of Christmas music.

The topic of their discussion, “Holiday Music: Where are the New Standards?” covered why it’s so hard to find modern standards for old holiday favorites.

Wilmeth, a passionate collector of popular (and unpopular) music since childhood, is author of the book “Sound Bites: A Lifetime of Listening.” It includes essays and reviews of concerts and recordings, memorials to departed artists, observations, and interviews on music from 1969 to 2016, the year the book was published.

Wisconsin Public Radio airs locally (in Milwaukee) on WHAD 90.7 FM. Click here or on the image below to listen to Wilmeth on WPR.
