If you dream of medical school, pharmacy, or a career in science, Concordia University Wisconsin is a great place to start that journey. Our biology and biomedical sciences students aren’t just keeping up—they’re excelling on a national level.

Recently, CUW students scored in the very top percentiles nationwide on the Major Field Test (MFT) in Biology, a standardized exam taken by universities across the country:

  • 99th percentile in Molecular Biology & Molecular Genetics
  • 99th percentile in Organismal Biology—Animal
  • 98th percentile in Cellular Biology
  • 92nd percentile in Analytical Skills

These results show that our students are not only mastering the material but are also preparing to stand out in competitive fields.

Strong test scores are just the beginning. Within a year of graduation, 85% of our biology and biomedical sciences alumni are already pursuing advanced degrees or working in science-related careers. Many head to medical or PA school, PhD programs, or biotechnology companies. Others take advantage of Concordia’s direct admission agreements with respected programs like LECOM’s D.O. medical program, the Illinois College of Optometry, and CUW’s own School of Pharmacy.

More than memorizing facts

At Concordia, biology isn’t about rote learning—it’s about discovery, critical thinking, and applying knowledge in ways that matter. Faculty mentors walk alongside students, encouraging them not just as scientists, but as professionals and people of faith. It’s an education that integrates head, heart, and hands.

Opportunities that set CUW apart

Here are just a few of the ways our students grow beyond the classroom:

  • Conduct research on cancer, antibiotic discovery, pharmaceuticals, and ecology
  • Join premedical and prepharmacy clubs to connect with peers who share their goals
  • Develop as leaders in a community that values both academic excellence and Christian faith

Your turn to shine

Whether your future involves medical school, graduate research, or a career in biotech, CUW will equip you with the knowledge, experiences, and values to succeed. Our students’ results speak for themselves. Now it’s your turn to take the next step.
