Concordia has played a large part in the way I go about my daily life. I understand now more than ever that there are people everywhere that need help or even just a friendly face. We are blessed with the various opportunities CUW gives us to go out into the community and do things to better ourselves and others.

Through Concordia and peer leading, I have become involved with a place called Willow Brooke Haven. Willow Brook Haven is an animal rescue for all types of animals that are given a second chance at life. The farm is run by a woman named Jae and her husband Randy. They live, breath, and do everything in their power to make sure these animals are well taken care of and given a better life. This place holds a special place in my heart. I give my time to help where needed, but I am given so much more in return. It is such a rewarding experience to be a part of this inspiring mission.

Service is important to me because it gives me a chance to get out into the community and make a difference. Seeing the smiles on people’s faces when I am helping them makes me want to do it more. Service really helps to humble myself, because I see things that I might never have seen otherwise. It helps me to relate with people of all backgrounds.

I am grateful for the opportunities to go out into the community and am so grateful to all the generous supporters that make it possible. Thank you!
