Streamline your pathway to become an OT

Concordia University Wisconsin (CUW) recently entered an agreement with Pima Medical Institute (PMI) that offers a streamlined path for OTAs to become OTs. If you earned your occupational therapy assistant degree from PMI, you can apply and become accepted to Concordia’s Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Science (BSRS) Bridge Program. If you successfully complete the one-year BSRS program, you’ll be eligible to apply and become accepted to the Master of Occupational Therapy Program at CUW.

What is rehabilitation science?

Rehabilitation science, or rehab science, is a degree applicable to plenty of medical and health careers. Overall, rehab science is especially focused on healing and strengthening the human body. Additionally, rehab science provides a direct route to occupational therapy (OT) and physical therapy (PT) degree programs.

Why careers in OT?

According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, occupational therapist careers are expected to grow much faster than average over the next 10 years.  This partnership with Pima Medical Institute allows for students to find an affordable, efficient path toward a career as an occupational therapist.

How does the BSRS Bridge program streamline the pathway to become an OT?

The BSRS Bridge program includes both online and in-person instruction, with one weekend per month on the CUW campus. This flexible learning format is an attractive option that allows practicing occupational therapy assistants to remain employed while in school.

Concordia University Wisconsin’s occupational therapy department

The CUW OT department has over 15 years of experience in offering their occupational master’s degree in the bridge format. The department is committed to not only providing the scientific background required of these careers, but ethical training in medicine. As a Christian university, we recognize and encourage a life-affirming view of humans at all stages.
