Campus Ministry has started off the 24-25 academic year strong with the annual Stomp the Courtyard event on September 13th from 5:30-7:30!

This has always been a fan favorite Campus Ministry event, featuring free food, including a pig roast, cotton candy and snow cones, ticket raffles, and most notably, INFLATABLES. This event is always a hit with all types of CUW students and faculty, and is especially great for Freshmen to get social and start meeting new people.

I surveyed a handful of students at the event, asking them what they think about the Stomp the Courtyard event. These are some of our lovely responses;

Sophia SImonson, a freshman partaking in the event said, “It’s cool, we just got here, we entered the raffle, and now we are getting snow cones.” and “We are most looking forward to the cotton candy, but also the bonfire.”

Aedan Kaplan, also a freshman enjoying the event said,“It’s pretty cool, man. There’s a lot of cool people out here tonight and it looks fun” and “The food is good too.”

Nolan Elton, a senior, who’s been to this event in years past, said,“I like it, the food is the best part of it. The cookies are some of the best cookies I’ve ever had.”

Ephraim Young, a junior helping with the event, said,“It’s amazing just to see how much work is put into this and how much everyone is so excited to work and get this happening!” and “(My) favorite part has got to be the pig; it’s delicious.”

When asked what event they are looking forward to after Stomp, these people had this to say:

 “I know we’re planning on going on the Devil’s Lake trip.” (Sophia Simonson)

“It’s gotta be Stomp the Bluff right afterwards, hosted by CAB. (They’ve) got the marshmallows over on the bluff, can’t go wrong.” (Ephraim Young)

“I’m looking forward to a pre Sem event in Fort Wayne, it’s a Christ academy for Pre Sem guys, we get to go to the seminary. I might attend the March for Life in January too.” (Aedan Kaplan)

“Probably the Fall Ball, or Dancing Through the Decades” (Nolan Elton)

To end off my short interview with these individuals, I asked them to both look ahead and use some imagination. I asked them:

If you could come up with a new event for this school, what would it be?

Here are their responses:

“We hope there’s more opportunities to go to a Brewers game” (Sophia Simonson)

“We need more fishing around these parts.” (Aedan Kaplan)

“A water balloon fight or a water gun fight” (Nolan Elton)

“I feel we’ve gotta bring back skit night. That would be a great time, gotta see everyone put on a good show.” (Ephraim Young)
