Concordia University has named Anghelo Gangano as its latest student of the month.

Anghelo is a Senior Chemistry major.  He has worked at the CCES since May of 2019.  Anghelo was a tremendous asset as a “student global leader” in two international science camps this summer.  Anghelo engaged the Japanese students by quickly learning their names and actively introducing them to the English culture.  Anghelo is the lead student worker at the CCES and helps train new students.  He also performs lab prep work in microbiology.

Anghelo has taken on an ambitious undergraduate research project documenting bacterial colonization in the new CCES aquaponics system.  The expectations of this work include a student poster presentation at the 2020 Association for the Sciences of Limnology and Oceanography (ASLO) conference in Madison, WI.

Anghelo was nominated by Dr. Mark Schmitz.

— Madelyne Arrigoni is a senior studying English, Mass Communications, and Photography. She plans to graduate in 2022.
