Get to know the CUW Freshmen Students. The Freshman Feature aims to help integrate CUW freshmen into the Concordia community. Every week, meet and learn about two new freshmen.
Meet Mary Heffner, an Early Childhood major from Lake Villa, Illinois. She has a good group of people she can connect with and participates in the Universities Band. The theme for her dorm room is purple with pastel accidents. Mary looks forward to her human learning class, where she can learn about the brain and her professor makes the class enjoyable. She chose Concordia for its educational program and her stepsister and husband graduated there.
Sophia Simonson is an interior architecture and design major from Waukesha, Wisconsin. She chose Concordia because it is one of the only schools that offers interior architecture and design in the same major, as well as having a co-op program with MIAD. She was also excited about the theater program as an extracurricular and is happy to have met some of her closest friends through theater and music here. She looks forward to starting MIAD classes and seeing where her journey at CUW takes her.
