Concordia University Wisconsin is teaming up with Smarthinking.com to provide free online tutoring for CUW online students.

Smarthinking.com, an innovator in connecting students with highly qualified instructors via the internet, will give Concordia’s online students the ability to talk to a tutor one-on-one.

The service will allow students to connect with an “e-structor” by either speaking with a tutor as soon as one is available or by scheduling a personal session 48 hours in advance so to receive a 30-60 minute session that fits the student’s lifestyle. As an alternative to a live session, students can also submit a question to be answered by a e-structor within 24 hours. Smarthinking.com uses a whiteboard tool for their live sessions that allows both e-structor and student to share information in real time by providing a virtual space to type and draw the questions and solutions. The site also contains academic resources such as test-preps and self-assessment tools for students to access any time.Subjects which smarthinking.com include Basic Math, Algebra, Geometry/Trigonometry, Calculus, Liberal Arts Math, Math en Espanol, Regular and Advanced Statistics, Math Beyond Calculus II, Biology, General and Organic Chemistry, Physics, Anatomy & Physiology, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Spanish Tutoring, and a Spanish Essay Center. Smarthinking.com is integrated with CUW’s Learning Management System, ANGEL, and can be accessed by logging into a specific course and clicking the smarthinking.com widget.
