Concordia University faculty, staff, and students are invited to reflect on the sacrifice of our Savior during Holy Week with special services being offered throughout the week in addition to regular chapel.

A Choral Vespers Service will kick off the week’s worship on Monday, March 21 at 9:30 p.m. The service will include Dr. Timothy Maschke as preacher. Members of the Kammerchor will sing.

On Tuesday, March 22, at 9:30 p.m. participants will have opportunity to reflect upon Jesus’ journey to the cross with a commemorative “Stations of the Cross” service. A pastor and some assistants holding candles and a crucifix will move throughout the chapel from station to station and, at each, a Scripture passage will be read, followed by a prayer spoken and a hymn sung.

Concordia will hold a “Maundy Thursday” service at 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday–a day early for students who may be traveling home on Thursday evening for Easter break. It will be a service of Holy Communion with Pastor Steve Smith preaching.

Chapel will be held at its regular time of 9:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday.

No services will be held on Good Friday or Monday. Chapel will resume Tuesday, March 29.

All chapel services will be held in the Chapel of the Holy Trinity.
