The Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty (WILL) is a prestigious organization that “recognizes that the principles and institutions that have made America an exceptional nation were hard won and can be easily lost. WILL is therefore dedicated to a vigorous defense of these foundations as the basis of a free society.”

Thanks to relationships he developed at CUW and the Batterman School of Business, Landon Sather was able to land a sought-after internship this renowned public policy group. During his time there, he had many opportunities to delve into real-world discussions and influence the future of our state.

“I got the opportunity to craft and conduct policy research to help spark professional published policy reports regarding educational state report cards, referenda voting, school district information, and past elections,” Sather explained. “I also had the opportunity to serve on a campaign that WILL headed regarding the August 2024 referenda vote which included writing letters to the editor of the Wisconsin state Constitution.

“Lastly, I was in charge of sifting through over a decade’s worth of legislation in the Wisconsin state legislature to gather information about school choice regulation throughout the state.”

Concordia connections

“The biggest help I had during the internship search specifically with WILL was Dr. Scott Niederjohn, who had a connection to the president of the organization. The Concordia experience was essential to getting this internship because it allowed me to rely on the personal relationships that I have made with several of my professors throughout my time here.”
