Get to know the CUW Freshmen Students. The Freshman Feature aims to help integrate CUW freshmen into the Concordia community. Every week, meet and learn about two new freshmen.
Meet Madie Swanson, an Early Childhood and Elementary Ed major from West Bend, Wisconsin. Her familiarity with the school prevented her from getting lost. Madie is looking forward to her education classes, where she can share her love for math and teach it. She has not gotten involved with any programs yet, but she has a few she is interested in. Because Madie commutes she talks to her parents every day. She chose Concordia for its strong education program and proximity.
Meet Lila Mattick, majoring in Lutheran Early Childhood and Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish. She is from Avon, Indiana, and chose to attend Concordia for the Lutheran faith and education. She is now a member of Light and is excited about Bible study, as well as the bible, studies her FA does. Lila is most looking forward to her Best Practices of Engaging Children in Literacy class because most of the class is spent reading children’s books. Ultimately, she believes she has all the necessary tools to succeed and is excited for the next four years here.
