Men’s Sports

ACHA Ice Hockey:

The Falcons will look to build on a successful ‘23-’24 season that saw a 25-12-2 record, a NCHL Conference championship, and a trip to the ACHA Division II National Tournament. Chuck Emme (Glenview, Illinois) returns for his Sophomore season after being named the ACHA Division II National Player of the Year. Senior captains Garrett Wilderman (Waukesha, Wisconsin) and Rex Stadaucher (Yorkville, Illinois) also return after productive seasons. The Falcons will open up the season at home against MSOE on Wednesday, September 11th.

Cross County:

The Falcons started the season off with a solid sixth place finish at the St. Norbert Tom Berry Invite with Senior Timmy Brey (Cedarburg, Wisconsin) leading all NCAA Division III runners and finished sixth overall with a 19:33.16 time. Newcomer Jonah Slavik (Muskego, Wisconsin) and Junior Preston Meier (Owatonna, Minnesota) also had solid performances and look to be top contributors for the Falcons going forward. The Falcons will be back in action at their home course Saturday, September 14th at the Ken Weidt Classic.

Football:

A week one game cancellation gives the Falcons an extra week to prepare for their matchup against Calvin. Sophomore Roman Funk (Scottsdale, Arizona) looks to take over the Quarterback position after appearing in all 10 games as the backup last season. On defense, the Falcons return Senior Linebacker Justice Kaneta (Brighton, Colorado) who earned All-NACC First Team honors last season. Senior Defensive Back Gio Nowatarski (Reading, Pennsylvania) returns to aid the Falcons secondary after earning NACC Second Team honors in 2023.

Golf:

The Falcons began their season with a 19th place finish at the Culvers Edgewood Fall Classic. Freshman Dylan Smith (Amherst, Wisconsin) led the Falcons with an overall score of 159 strokes including a 77 on day one of the event which was good for an 89th place individual finish. Garrett Wilderman (Waukesha, Wisconsin), Tyler Yaun (Rockton, Illinois), Ray Baldus (Mayville, Wisconsin), and Trevor Wotring (Johnsburg, Illinois) rounded out the top five for the Falcons. They will compete at the Carthage Firebird Invite on September 9th and 10th.

Soccer:

After a 0-1-1 start to the season, the Falcons look to collect their first win of the year against Loras on Wednesday, September 11th. Alishan Sharipov (Krasnodar, Russia), Vladimir Campos (Milwaukee, Wisconsin), and Carson Kelly (Fon du Lac, Wisconsin) are the top returning players on the offensive side of the ball, and look to continue their production during the 2024 campaign. The Falcons present an experienced defense with Sam Butterfield (St. Louis, Missouri) and Carlos Valvida (Fon du Lac, Wisconsin) returning for their Senior years. Junior Goalkeeper Jeremy Munoz (Milwaukee, Wisconsin) brings a lot of experience between the pipes, starting in 29 games entering the 2024 season.

Tennis:

After opening up the season at the Depauw Invitational in Indiana, the Falcons Men’s Tennis team looks to build on a solid start to the season with a home match against Carroll on Wednesday, September 18th. Senior Landon Sather (Fort Wayne, Indiana) will look to build off a 20-6 singles record from the 2023-2024 season.  Freshman Hayden Latus (Waukesha, Wisconsin) will also look to make an impact in his first season on the squad.

Women’s Sports:

Field Hockey:

Falcons Field Hockey has stated the season 1-3 while all three losses were within two goals. Sophomore Leah Mouganis (Pittsburg, Pennsylvania) returns after being named to the All-SAA First Team and being named Freshman of the Year last season. Sophomore Emily Robertson (Canton, Michigan) and Junior Katelyn Cardinale (Mt. Laurel, New Jersey) also return as the two top scorers for the Falcons. The team will look to pick up their first road win against Wooster on Saturday, September 14th.

Tennis:

The Women’s Tennis team has started 1-1 after picking up their first win of the season against Wisconsin Lutheran. Peyton Morgan (Arlington Heights, Illinois) returns for her Senior year after going undefeated in singles play during the NACC tournament last season. Sophomore Morgan Chyla (Salem Lakes, Wisconsin) looks to play an important role for the Falcons this season, both in singles play, and as Morgan’s doubles partner.

Soccer:

The Falcons bring a ton of experience into the 2024 season and have gotten off to a solid 2-1 start. Senior Bella Rapp (Grafton, Wisconsin) has been the key to the offense, scoring both of the teams goals thus far. Seniors Maddy Pertle (Orland Park, Illinois) and Carmen Rowe (Copley, Ohio) will be big pieces on the defensive side of the ball. The Falcons will face off against UW-Platteville on Wednesday, September 11th.

Volleyball: The team has gotten off to a 3-4 start after a pair of 3-1 losses at the Coe College Mabel Lee

invite. Junior Mickenzi Benter (De Pere, Wisconsin) and Freshman McKenna Oetzman (Reedsburg, Wisconsin) were named to the all-tournament team. Juniors Paige Stickney (Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin) and Brianna Lundt ( Brandon, Wisconsin) were also big contributors. The Falcons return to action on Wednesday, September 11th at Carthage.

Golf:

The Falcons golf team recently wrapped up the Marian Invite. Senior Elizabeth Montaba (Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin) led the lineup, finishing in eighth-place with 170 strokes including an 83 stroke round. Freshman Kierra Hahn (Muscatine, Iowa) and Senior Paige Zirbel (De Pere, Wisconsin) also had solid performances, finishing 43rd and 45th respectively.

Cross Country:

The Falcons have gotten off to a hot start to the season after leading all NCAA Division III teams at the St. Norbert Tom Berry Invite. Junior Ainara Sainz De Rozas (Madrid, Spain) led all Division III runners, and finished in second place overall. Her performance was good enough to be named NACC Student-Athlete of the Week. Melanie Arvis (Berwyn, Illinois) and Alicia Kawa (Medford, Wisconsin) also finished in the top-10. The Falcons look to build on this victory on September, 14th at the Ken Weidt Classic at Concordia Wisconsin.
