Every year we find ourselves thinking about what we didn’t accomplish and what we want to achieve in the new year ahead. We start the year excited and ready to conquer our goals, only to find ourselves without a plan.
For many, going back to school may be a yearly goal. Concordia University Wisconsin can help you create a personalized plan with steps that can help you accomplish your resolutions this year! Find out more about how we can help.
Step 1: Do your research on a new career
Whether you are going back to school or making a career change, it is important to know what area of interest you want to pursue. If you’re not sure what major to pursue, check out our QUIZ! Research information on the field, potential jobs, salaries, and what schooling is needed for the career. O*Net provides information on hundreds of careers and substantial information needed to understand what you are looking for and what will be the best fit.
Step 2: Talk to inquiry support
Once you have selected an area of interest, it’s time to choose a program. Concordia University offers a unique opportunity for students to connect with an inquiry support specialist. Our inquiry support specialists (IMT) are here to help answer your questions and walk you through the process of starting your educational journey. Once you request more information, an IMT member will reach out to connect with you. During your conversation, they will talk to you about your desired program and give you the next steps.
Having this service allows you as a prospective student to talk to a professional about your career goals and what you need in a program. Then, an IMT member can help you determine the best course of action.
Step 3: Get your application in
Have all of your questions been answered? Are you ready to start with Concordia?
It’s time to fill out an application! Each program requires students to submit an online application. However, every program may have different requirements on what supplementing documents you need to turn in. Once you submit your information online, one of our Admissions Counselors will help you gather the documents you need to submit your application. They will also keep you on track to meet program deadlines and start dates.
Acceptance and beyond!
You’re accepted! Once you are ready to enroll in courses, you will be assigned an Academic Advisor to guide you through your program to graduation. They are here to help you with any questions or concerns you may have during the program. Advisors are here to provide encouragement and guidance during your educational journey.
