SUPPORT MISSIONS IN AFRICA
CUW Student Kimmy Buck shares her experience on the Togo, West Africa Trip
On January 7th, 2012, Professor Ron Mudge of Concordia University Wisconsin, Pastor Carl Lehenbauer of Trinity Freistadt in Mequon, and 7 of Concordia’s students all embarked on a memorable journey to the heart of the Mission in Dapaong Togo, West Africa. After a short visit in Burkina, they crossed the border into Togo and stayed for a week as honorary guests at the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod Lutheran seminary. There, they met with the seminary director, Dr. Dango, and the professors to discuss the ministry in Togo. Very exciting things are happening at the seminary. The students take classes on church planting and are taking the initiative to form Lutheran congregations across Togo and surrounding countries. A meeting with the National Church board also took place where the topic that was discussed in length was how churches in America can support the seminary’s mission in Togo. The seminary and churches have needs that could benefit from outside support including transportation for Evangelists, books for the classes, and tuition money for the students. It only costs 65 dollars for a young man to attend the seminary for 4 years! However, the most important and most effective support one can offer is prayer. Please join in praying for our brothers in Christ involved with the seminary and the Mission in Togo, West Africa.
Thank you and God’s blessings,
Kimmy Buck
