America spends more on healthcare than any other developed country; yet, it does not provide better health outcomes. Republicans and Democrats can't agree on a solution; yet, rational compromise is desperately needed.

What is the solution to America’s out-of-control cost curve?

The fourth annual Healthcare Economics Summit, an effort of Concordia’s Batterman School of Business and the Remedium eXchange Think Tank, will tackle the question on July 31.

The 2020 event has moved online this year to comply with coronavirus precautions. This year’s keynote, Steven Klasko, will be one of many leading experts from across the nation who will offer their informed opinions and expert solutions.

The Healthcare Economics Summit will also serve as the book launch for Batterman School of Business Dean Dr. Daniel Sem’s new book, “Purple Solutions: A Bipartison Roadmap to Better Healthcare in America.” In addition to receiving a copy, those who register for the morning session will have opportunity to hear from experts who contributed to its text.

Expert book contributors include the former president of the American Medical Association, policy and think tank leaders, healthcare executives, entrepreneurs looking to disrupt the current medical industrial complex, politicians, payers, providers, and legal experts.

“The solution to healthcare is in our hands, as consumers and voters, not in the hands of big government or corporate medicine,” says Sem. “Viable bipartisan solutions to healthcare reform are presented. We just need to change our mindset, and then convince our elected officials to compromise and work towards giving us better healthcare in America.”
