10. Los Angeles Angels, 6-3 (NR Last Week)

The Angels have been a pleasant surprise to begin the 2025 season. Three straight series wins against the White Sox, Cardinals, and Guardians have them at a solid 6-3 record. Mike Trout has three homers and a .391 on-base percentage through five games in April. Jack Kochanowicz had two good starts over the last week, going six innings against the White Sox and five against the Guardians, while giving up only two earned runs in each. LA will get tested this week against the Rays and Astros, so we will see if they truly deserve to be in the top ten or if they are the same old Angels.

9. Arizona Diamondbacks, 5-5 (#5 Last Week)

Arizona had a weird first week and a half, splitting a four-game series with the Cubs, taking two of three from the Yankees, but then dropping two games to the Nationals. Eugenio Suarez hit five home runs in his first five games but has cooled off since. Corbin Carroll is hitting great with his new batting stance; he has three home runs and three doubles. Zac Gallen had a fantastic start against the Yankees, tossing 6⅔ shutout innings with 13 strikeouts and zero walks. The D-Backs will have a tough home stretch ahead as they take on the Orioles and Brewers in Phoenix.

8. New York Mets, 6-3 (#6 Last Week)

The Mets are out to a good start, earning series victories over the Marlins and Blue Jays after losing two of three to the Astros. Pete Alonso has been on fire with three home runs and 11 RBIs through the first nine games. New York pitching has been fantastic so far, including David Peterson, who has a 2.53 ERA and 12 strikeouts through his first 10⅔ innings. They will have another series against Miami before heading out west to take on the Athletics.

7. Boston Red Sox, 6-4 (#10 Last Week)

Boston started out slow, losing their opening four-game series to the Rangers. However, they have turned it around by taking two of three from Baltimore and sweeping St. Louis. After a terrible start for Rafael Devers (0-19, 15 strikeouts), he turned it around with 10 hits and seven RBIs over his last five games. New ace Garrett Crochet has been as good as advertised, with a 1.38 ERA and 12 strikeouts through his first two starts with the team. They have a fairly easy week ahead as they will take on the Blue Jays and White Sox.

6. San Diego Padres, 8-2 (#9 Last Week)

San Diego got out to a hot start in 2025, sweeping both the Braves and Guardians before dropping two games to the Cubs. Fernando Tatis Jr is playing great through the first ten games, with a .368/.444/.474 slash line and already five stolen bases. Randy Vasquez has a 1.69 ERA through his first two starts this season. They should continue their early season success this week, as they will take on the A’s and Rockies.

5. New York Yankees, 6-3 (#2 Last Week)

The torpedo bat swinging Yankees got out to a great start, sweeping Milwaukee before losing a series to the Diamondbacks. They bounced back over the weekend, taking two of three in Pittsburgh against the Pirates. Aaron Judge has continued to be Aaron Judge. He has six home runs and 17 RBIs already through the first week and a half. Their new rotation addition, Max Fried, has pitched to a 2.61 ERA through his first two starts. The Bronx Bombers will have a tough week ahead, traveling to Detroit to take on the Tigers before heading back home for a big-time matchup with the Giants.

4. Texas Rangers, 8-2 (#7 Last Week)

The Rangers have won every single series to this point, taking three of four from Boston, two of three from Cincinnati, and sweeping the Rays over the weekend. Pitching has been the story early, with many of the position players struggling at the plate. After going six innings on Opening Day while giving up only two runs, Nate Eovaldi threw a complete-game shutout against Cincinati last Tuesday. Wyatt Langford is leading the way offensively with three home runs and an .825 OPS. As they try to stay in first place in the AL West, Texas will play three games against both the Cubs and Mariners this week.

3. San Francisco Giants, 8-1 (NR Last Week)

San Francisco is out to their best start since 2003 after taking a series over the Reds and sweeping both Houston and Seattle. Wilmer Flores is leading the way offensively with four home runs and 12 RBIs. Logan Webb, Jordan Hicks, and Robbie Ray are anchoring the rotation, each with an ERA under 3.20 through two starts. The Giants will look to continue their seven-game winning streak against the Reds (again) and Yankees.

2. Los Angeles Dodgers, 9-2 (#1 Last Week)

The Dodgers were a perfect 8-0 to begin the season. Could 162-0 have been an actual possibility? It will not happen, as they lost two games over the weekend to the Phillies. Even with Freddie Freeman heading to the IL, the hitting is still more than good enough to win games. Yoshinobu Yamamoto has been great through three starts. He has a 1.69 ERA and 19 strikeouts. The first loss was going to happen at some point, so they should be happy it is out of the way now. LA will head out east to play the Nationals before hosting the Cubs over the weekend.

1. Philadelphia Phillies, 7-2 (#3 Last Week)

This might be a little bold after just one series victory over the Dodgers, but when you take down LA, you deserve to be at number one. Before that, Philly won a series over both Washington and Colorado. Kyle Schwarber is leading the way with the bat, hitting four home runs so far and getting on base at a .390 clip. Zach Wheeler has been his usual self through two starts, only giving up two runs in 13 innings. The Phillies will head on the road to take on the Braves and Cardinals this week, looking to continue their early season success.
